Here's what's got our attention this week.

School is out and camp has started! Louise did an awesome all-girls camp in the park last week where a lot of rain yielded a ton of bracelet-making using these tiny rubber bands and gimp. She and Griffin have also been playing heated games of Spit. (Do you remember this game?! It was a real flashback for me.) And the other day, we all went out for a late day run / bike because it was warm + light out! It’s really feeling like summer around here, and it feels so good!!

We listen to a pretty wide range of music at home thanks to John—lots of rock and reggae, with some hip hop, 80s pop, and folk mixed in. Something is always playing on our stereo. But one genre is pretty much reserved for car listening, and that’s current (or semi current) Top 40. Somehow it’s always felt more fun when we’re on the go. And Louise is into it. She loves Girl on Fire and requests it all the time, and I’m more than happy to oblige. It got me thinking about what other songs she might like, so I made her a mix, and we’ve been playing it around the house. I put it on when she had a few friends over the other day, and they all start singing along. Me too! Can’t help it! It’s a little fun-infusion I didn’t realize we were missing! What other fun songs should I add?

It got HOT this week. I’m loving this sweet breezy linen dress I bought for India in LA. Also, if I could put her in these jorts every day, I would.

We’ve been out of the city most weekends since it’s gotten warm. There are a few packing items that are harder to remember because they’re always in use until the last minute. Recently, I bought some doubles and made a bag of items that are essential for us. It’s great having it always ready to go, and it also saves me time unpacking. Right now I have two of these (they're on sale!!), two of these, a mini bottle of this soap, and a bottle brush. Other essentials like diapers, wipes, sunscreen + pacis always live in my large pouch, so that’s an easy grab too! I know the essentials will change as ages do, but I’m so happy with how much easier this makes my packing game.

Loving the restrained palette on this architecture and interiors feed.
